Heretics Anonymous by Katie Henry

Ooooh, this book was sassy and funny and a super quick read. I REALLY enjoyed reading this book. I genuinely laughed out loud at points, and frequently quoted bits to my husband.

What makes this book so funny is the narration from Michael's perspective. He's so sarcastic and sassy and I absolutely loved it! The other main characters are also great. They're not massively developed, but they were fun and light and added something to the plot. I particularly loved Max - I definitely read him as having autism (am I the only one??).

This book discusses many different religions and viewpoints, and I thought the way this was executed was very clever and sensitively handled. Yes, aspects of the Catholic faith are criticised (mostly by Michael), but I didn't think it wasn't done offensively. The book really focused on acceptance and finding harmony between people who don't believe the same things.

Overall, this was a very refreshing read that literally made me laugh out loud!
