The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger

5.0

First book I've gone through in a day in a while. Really a captivating and 'humorous' story. Holden is definitely a pitiable character that you learn to sort of sympathize with after awhile. Most of us too can probably relate to the sense of directionless and despair we felt as teens, and even as adults sometimes. Granted, not quite to this extreme nor severity, but it's definitely a good cautionary read, and I see why it's so often read in English classes.
