Difficult Loves by Italo Calvino

4.0

4.5. I loved this series of short stories. The first section, difficult loves, mainly focused on men and women overthinking and being awkward in intimate situations. I loved the attention to detail and the humor, these stories contained such original writing. The second section, difficult lives, seemed to focus on what makes a livable, pleasant, comfortable life and how do we find our place in the world that has too many people and too many contradictory ways of being. The two stories in the last section made me feel itchy and claustrophobic (in the best way?), they were so stressful and brilliant.
