The Book of Imaginary Beings by Jorge Luis Borges

1.0

This is a book that could have been so much better than it was. The main problem, in my opinion, is that the author appears to make the assumption that the reader is extremely well-read in classic and, in some cases, obscure ancient works. This is not always the case and it makes it very difficult to understand many of the references made. I also feel that a book of this kind would greatly benefit from some illustrations, given that the very subject is of creatures which are imaginary.
