Leonard crafts crime tales with such finesse and humor you almost forget the people you’re reading about are (largely) stone cold killers and crooks. The way he writes isn’t overwritten or overstated. He gives the reader these juicy morsels of dialogue that one moment will make you cackle and then next have your blood run cold. Could not tell you the last time a book was this much fun and this much of a breeze to read. Absolutely loved it.
