Bombay Ice by Leslie Forbes

3.0

Absolutely beautifully written, it can read more like poetry at times. It's also stuffed full of actual poetry, both western and Indian, mythology and science, all whirled together into a well-crafted atmosphere.
I don't know if this is the sort of book you enjoy, but I think it's the sort of book that is fascinating to read. Nobody is super sympathetic (except for Thomas. I love Thomas. I hope he makes it to Cannes and has a wonderful time), but they aren't supposed to be. Broken, and jagged, and ugly. All wrapped in the history and present of Bombay.
I also learned a lot about Indian art and culture.
