Iron Gold by Pierce Brown

3.5

Giving it the same rating as the first book because I had the same sort of experience. It took me a bit to get into the story (this one more than the first) due to not only it being in the future and things have changed in that way, but also the multiple POVs. Speaking of POVs, I really couldn’t stand Lyria. I didn’t care much for her story but even when I did start to enjoy the character as a whole, the narrator for her was just unpleasant to listen to so every time I reached her pov I’d lose interest in picking this book up.

However, much like with the first book, the plot began to slowly pick up and as soon as I started to get the action scenes I know and love from Pierce Brown, I became more and more invested and I overall had a great time, this just wasn’t my favorite of the series. Very much looking forward to starting Dark Age!
