The Scotland Street series of books are like little hugs that you give to yourself when you want a 'palate cleanser' between books dealing with difficult tooics. Or when you want to immerse yourself in a world of quirky, loveable characters. They all have their faults and idiosyncrasies but I can't find much fault with a book that manages to make me smile frequently and laugh out loud occasionally.
