5.0

The premise of the book sets up the complexity & tragedy that is inevitable after a hunting accident of that kind, but Erdrich approaches her characters with such understanding & acceptance that the book becomes a parable for forgiveness (and its opposite, revenge) & redemption of all kinds. Her prose writing style lyrically captures the Ojibwe art of storytelling on the page, so I can only imagine how transporting this book is in audio form. I will recommend this book to lots of people.
