Effigy, Vol. 1: Idle Worship by Tim Seeley, Marley Zarcone

2.0

I don't think I read a book before that was truly a waste of my time like Effigy.

Thin characters, watery plot, middle of the road art.

I got this expecting True Detective meets fandom and instead I got a straight to DVD pseudo-intellectual commentary on fandom with a weird Scientology knockoff. It was all questions and no answers. None of the loose ends were tied up and all I could find was this single volume. And of course, the only queer character is repeatedly brutalized.

Hard pass.
