A Rake's Midnight Kiss by Anna Campbell

5.0

So I’ve been reading a few regency era book series and I’ve gotta say this one is prob my fav.
In all the other ones I read each book usually deals with a different sibling but the thing that always bothered me was that you never hear from them again once their story is done. Or they’re just mentioned. But they aren’t important to moving the plot forward in each other’s books.
What I love about this one is that Cam and Jonas play an important role in Richard’s story. I also loved seeing their interaction and their friendship and the way they come together to help one another.

I feel like this book was different from the usual regency stories. And it was action packed. Great funny banter.
And omg the part where Genevieve tells her father that she was assaulted by Lord Neville and her father just doesn’t give a fuck? I cried! It was so raw and emotional.
You can really feel her distress and pain and hurt and sadness and anger at how her father doesn’t care about her safety and well-being. He only cares about himself. It was so heartbreaking.

And of course loved Sirius. Love love love this pup.

I loved seeing Richard struggling with his unknown parentage until the reconciliation with his mum at the end. I cried at that moment as well. Poor Augusta.
Watching mother and son just brought me to tears.

It’s not just a romance novel. It’s also action packed and has powerfully emotional scenes. I absolutely LOVED this book.

I actually only read book 2 because it was recommended to me.
I will now read book 1 haha
