Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano… this one fell very flat for me. A missed shot. 🏀 I struggled to get through it, picking it up and putting it down for a few months. I ended up doing something I never do: added it to my DNF list and googled the ending. 🙄 The characters did not feel fully developed and neither did the story progression. What really left a bad taste in my mouth was that for a book with numerous triggering themes, they were presented as hollow events and barely explored in meaningful ways. ⭐️⭐️ 1.75 stars for the fact I found the Italian American family traditions endearing and relatable so it did spark a sense of enjoyment at times. 🇮🇹
