Grant Walton is out-of-town on business when a hacker contact warns him of an imminent nuclear attack. He leaves several messages for his nurse wife to leave Atlanta, but can't reach her. Grant's flight home is cancelled and then the power goes out. The story introduces you to some interesting people who manage to escape the city after and EMP event, and before a series of nuclear bombs. How they learn of what has happened was realistic, and you get their different stories as Grant and Leah are in a race against time , just barely out of range of nuclear fallout, as they try to warn others and stay out of danger.

The story felt realistic to how people would act if this actually happened. I thought the story fell apart because to much time was spent on information that seemed to pull away from what the story was actually about. The characters at times fell flat as well. There reactions though where more true to how things would happen if a nuclear explosion happened.
