New Erotica for Feminists: Satirical Fantasies of Love, Lust, and Equal Pay by Carrie Wittmer, Fiona Taylor, Caitlin Kunkel, Brooke Preston

4.0

Serious issues made silly, entertainment made enlightening.

One of the most amazing women in my life gave me this book as a Christmas gift. I can't believe it took me five months to get around to reading it! I had just come home from a very long and stressful day at work and wasn't in the mood for Edith Wharton. I needed something funny and distracting, hence I picked up this book.

It's a short book, so the time investment is minimal. But it's a vacation away from the real world for just a bit. It's like watching your favorite episode of 30 Rock or Parks and Rec: you'll laugh and then come away feeling an enhanced kinship for your fellow women. A soft-fuzzy that inspires you to change the world.

"He calls me into his office and closes the door . . . to promote me. He promotes me again and again. I am wild with ecstasy."
