More Than a Duke, by Christi Caldwell

3.0

I had higher hopes for this one. It was a decent read but I needed the heroine to be stronger. I REALLY needed someone to put their darned mother in her place. I needed the couple to stinking talk to one another. I was actually a bigger fan of the Earl than I thought I would be, him being a scoundrel and all, but his development was well done with this book. I absolutely hated how is once 'best friend' treated him however and have no idea how they got to that point. A lot of people owe this guy apologies.

Anne a character in her sister's book touted to be strong and determined just doesn't live up to that through the majority of the book. She quits too easily when things get hard and doesn't step up to put people in their place or ask questions. I wanted to like her so much more than I ultimately did.

The romance of course worked out in the end and I am happy for it, but I hoped for more. I am really hoping I get the Duke of Crawford's story, he was one of the mere interesting spots for me in this story.
