Just wow.
Going into this book, I wasn't sure about the writing style. Our MC Aaron is narrating the story/talking to his recently deceased wife through a lot of it. Thankfully it didn't take long to get used to the writing because damn, this book was so fucking good.
Aaron basically finds out a huge secret about his wife and embarks on a journey to not only find out what it was but also help solve multiple cold cases along the way. This story was one hell of a wild ride. π³
It's not only the story, though, that sucks you in. It is the very reason I was originally not sure about the book. The writing style and the depth of thought and wisdom that's put into this book are phenomenal. If you want a book that makes you feel things, this one does. It's not all sunshine and flowers, though. It's an inward glance into the dark parts of your soul. Those places we don't always see or acknowledge. And that to me is great writing. Auto-buy author meterial!
