"Bread won't rise unless the baker first activates the yeast. Another of her father's favorite sayings. In other words, take one step at a time and trust the process."

This quote is exactly what I would tell you about this book. I would say you need to give this book at least until page 70 before you decide how you feel (Yes specifically 70!!). In the beginning of the book, I was annoyed, the summary told us who she would end up with yet knowing that made the first part seem worthless. The writing was also very basic and borderline cringy at times, but once I fell in love with the characters it was all worth it and I flew through!

As I get older I am starting to realize that characters that seem annoying or who's point of view I don't understand it's just because I'm learning how other people think. Whenever I create a story the characters reflect my own personality but sometimes you have to let yourself absorb a new character even if you don't understand their line of thinking. This can definitely be hard with such a basic writing style because you can't distinguish the way of thinking and the thoughts versus what they actually want to think etc. you kind of have to dig between the lines but it is worth it to know the characters. It is also something to keep in mind that I am going to like certain romance more because of what my own love languages are and that is sometimes why I don't love books that are more focused on physical touch or whatever it may be.

With all that being said once you understand both characters they are the cutest couple ever! I wish we could see more of Rosalind with a spinoff as she continues! Also I know this is technically the second book in a series but I did not read the first book and I wasn't lost at all with this one so it can definitely be enjoyed as a stand alone!
