Dig by A.S. King

4.0

Me during the first third of this book - "I don't like it." Me during the middle third of this book - "Okay, I can admit this is a creative, ambitious, well-written book, but I'm just not connecting to it." Me during the last third of the book - "What's gonna happen next? How is this all going to come together? I need to know."

Dig is a slow burn novel about generational family drama/trauma that starts with all these disparate characters and storylines that eventually come together with a twist that is hidden in plain sight and written in a very artistic way. A few narrative edges could've been smoother imho, but a book that took me from uninterested to compelled across its reading.
