A decent read, but did not live up to expectations. I’ve heard the book described as more whimsical in a way, that it’s, often times verbatim, referred to as “Winnie the Pooh meets The Blair Witch Project”, which just couldn’t be farther from the truth. The deaths are a bit jarring and at times particularly brutal, but ultimately seem like shock filler and just don’t go anywhere. The story has no moral, no lesson, but it’s clear that was the authors intent. Still a fun little read if you’re into the disturbing.
Graphic: Body horror, Child death, Death, Gore, Vomit, Medical trauma, Death of parent, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Stalking
