I have waited almost 10 hours to write this review. There is still so much to unpack after finishing this masterpiece.
Let me just start by saying Kat is an absolute DYNAMO! She rocked my world with this story. I was a blubbering mess through a good chunk of this book. Along with anger, swooning and just downright hoping for the best to come. And it did. This book has such a profound impact on me, unlike many others. Im still feeling from the emotions and feelings I had throughout. And honestly I don't know how to express them, other than my adoration for Kat and her writing.
I DO NOT cry while reading books, like hardly ever. But this one broke me, and made me sob like a small child who just had their favorite toy taken away.
Marigold and Caden always had a friendship built in. Pippa being Marigolds best friend and Cade being Pippa's brother. After some serious heartbreak and loss all parties involved learned to depend on each other. I cannot say more than that, because this is a book you need to go into with no expectations. You just need to feel everything the book has to offer.
“I’m tired of fighting myself over how much I think about you. I’m tired of telling myself that I shouldn’t look at my little sister’s best friend the way I look at you. I’m really just tired of pretending that my entire head isn’t full of you and only you.”
With so much on the line for Mare and Caden so many feelings and experiences are rediscovered and felt through and through. Each experience holds a new impact because there is more knowledge about each experience.
This is a 🥵🥵🥵 book. Don't let the sweet cover fool you. It's a phenomenal story with some serious scenes to back up those hard feelings Mare and Caden have for each other. And it's only those scenes where you see how they truly feel and how they show it to each other. At their rawest form they bare their souls to each other.
Thank you so much to Kat for such an amazing experience and a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
