At one point, the main character says that she and her friend are a stereotypical workaholic and golden party girl - and that’s exactly what they are. The main character is
Spoilerannoying, self centered, and obsessed with her job and best friend more than her own fiancée. I knew as soon as the book jumped 4.5 years that the story would not build naturally or anything answer all of a readers questions. The magical premise of the book is never explained - probably because the author couldn’t think of anyway to pull it off. More importantly, who the hell sleeps with their dead best friends fiancé??? And then mistakes grief for love??? But don’t worry, she still gets her typical rom-com chance of with her bffs doctor at the end!!
Unless you like a good premise ruined with a bad story but pages full of details about food, find something else to read.
