Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall

4.5? Yeah. yeah.

At the start I thought this was gonna be too YA-y for me, and I did kinda resigned-shrug whenever the focus shifted to the obligatory relationship drama instead of the spoopy stuff. But then - the spoopy stuff was so good!! This is a very creative, imaginative story, told in a format I enjoyed as a fan of found footage horror.

This is also kind of an honorary Flowerhead book, it has the vibe if not the cover. It would make a good pairing with House of Hollow with all the lovely, flowery decay. I didn't understand the *very* ending, it felt like a setup to a sequel, so I hope it will make sense when I read Our Last Echoes.
