The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells
3.0
I should've finished this book days ago! But life kept getting in the way.
I found this story to be just okay. Interesting but okay. I had a hard time with the descriptions though. I felt like I couldn't picture what was being written.
I became attached to some of the beasts on the island. I was even shocked by a scene towards the end of the book. But I liked these creatures about as much as I liked the main character, which really wasn't that much. Prendick is very smart and resourceful, but I just didn't like him.
Also the cult like overtones were a bit annoying. I understand why it was there, but I wasn't a fan.
