Beetle & the Hollowbones by Aliza Layne

3.0

Listen, it's a cute book, don't get me wrong. I like the art a lot. However, the story itself is very lackluster. No exploration in characters, the world, nor its magic system. The story just does not seem fleshed out. The romance was so extremely forced, and the conflict between Beetle and Kat was obnoxiously overdone, and, as I mentioned before, forced. I enjoyed the art a lot, but the story itself was not memorable for me.
