Magic Unbound by T.J. Green
4.0
4... close to 3.5 honestly but I'll bump it up. This book still suffers from some of the issues of the previous book. After reading this one, I've narrowed it down to mostly pacing issues. Scenes that should be longer are short, scenes that should be short are longer. It's mostly the latter, things that seem really important happen very quickly. Like there's a scene at the end where It's very odd. The resolution with was also too quick. I thought more detail could/should have been devoted to
Like I said before, the bones of these books are so good. The universe, the magic, etc. The characters could use more attention (especially those other than Avery/Alex) and I think if the pacing was fixed, it would have been amazing. But I'll keep reading because they're quick reads and I'm into it enough to want more haha. I need to see how it turns out.
Spoiler
Avery and the others have their final fight (of this book) with Caspian and members of his family, and it's described in like 2-3 lines.Spoiler
