Call to Honor by Tawny Weber

5.0

There are books you enjoy...and then there are books that add to your heart. The words literally open the depths of your love a little more, and make you a fuller, better being. Tawny Weber's "Call to Honor" is exactly such a book. I simply didn't want it to end. Gah!
This story embodied every single reason I fell in love with military romance. A hero who believes himself "saved" by the code of his team, only to have his world opened further by a woman with a heart as huge as the sea. Their journey from the hot-and-lusties (which were REALLY freaking great, by the way) to admitting, reluctantly, to how deeply they've fallen in love with each other...WHAT a ride! Between it all, there's a couple of feisty best friends (who'd better get their own book!! Ahem!) and a cute kid who never overtakes the story, as some can.
The most compelling part of this story was the vision Ms. Weber had into these characters, and the deep emotional obstacles they had to overcome for the sake of their love. Exposing yourself to a person--really and truly, as in, letting them see your weaknesses, fears, and the ugly past that made you that way--that's the hard, gritty reality of achieving the heights of romance--and it's all here in this book, told so compassionately. Diego and Harper's story filled me with so much hope, joy, warmth...all the feels an incredible romance should give.
You will savor this story for a very long time...all the best things a memorable romance should have! Tawny Weber, I bow down. You are the queen!
