House of Odysseus by Claire North

adventurous mysterious slow-paced

4.75

On my second read, a year after learning more about greek myth, I find this series absolutely stunning in wit, characterizations, and a unique spin on each of their stories intertwining with Penelope's. I love how many times this book made me grin like an idiot.
The prose is as beautiful as Madeline Miller's, and the narrator is so talented at flowing from each character's tone also being soothing and humorous at the same time.
I would mention that the book does tend to repeat itself, even some backstories more than once, but I don't dislike it since I use these books to learn about mythology in general and I like hearing the names and stories repeated to help me remember for the next book I read.
