How Beautiful the Ordinary: Twelve Stories of Identity by David Levithan, Michael Cart, Francesca Lia Block

5.0

I stumbled across this book when I was 13, not really knowing what it was, but I took it home with me. That was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. I was a queer kid in the Bible belt. I was was convinced that I was going to hell, and I felt like I had no one to turn to. This book brought so much comfort to that terrified version of myself. It was so helpful to see characters like me and get that assurance that I wasn't broken or wrong.
