An Immense World: How Animal Senses Reveal the Hidden Realms Around Us by Ed Yong

4.0

A fascinating look at the various ways animals sense the world around them. The level of detail is impressive, and I suspect most readers will learn something new in every chapter. The way the book is structured, by sense rather than by animal or animal type, allows for a broad study throughout the animal world in almost every chapter.

If I were to nitpick, the prose can get a bit dry at times and the heavy use of footnotes can derail the narrative flow, but those are pretty minor faults in an otherwise excellent book.
