I picked this up for the essays on American Gods. That's the bottom line of it. I've read a good portion of Gaiman's books, but not everything. I really enjoyed the essays on American Gods, but I also loved the things about his other works, whether I'd read them or not. It all just shows what Gaiman's beliefs are and what he likes to explore in his novels.
