This was a really interesting book - I don't read much crime fiction and it generally takes a lot to hook me on one, but this managed to. The setting was very interesting, particularly in the differences between Caro and Child's spheres of influence. The depiction of prostitutes was handled sensitively, and it reminded me a lot of Harlots - which is my favourite show, set in the same time period. The murder-mystery kept me guessing, though I was a little frustrated that we didn't get firm resolution 0f Caro's personal story.
Moderate: Pregnancy, Sexual violence, and Trafficking
Major depiction of sex work/prostitution, as well as all the nastiness associated with it in Georgian England.
