The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

3.0

This was….quite the difficult read. The transcription of 1930s midwestern speech made it super hard to follow, and I would say the plot thickened after the first 200 pages or so (not the best night time read tbh). I will say Steinbeck’s beautiful writing kept me on the book- and i could draw many parallels with contemporary injustices which I appreciated. Overall very sad book. Glad I read it but would not read again
