Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

Henry’s the only man I liked. I said what I said.

The plot of this book wasn’t bad, but it had the potential to be so much better. And the characters, good lord, don’t get me started. From their development to their dialogue, I was convulsing the entire book and not in a good way. The conversations were written like a play, not how someone talks in real life and I was literally cringing, especially reading the “texts.”

Did we really feel the need to include the term “bub” or “baby” between Nate and Stas in every interaction after they started dating? WHY “BUB” OF ALL THE TERMS OF ENDEARMENT KNOWN TO MANKIND?!

Also why would it end with her PREGNANT? I’m fuming over that. I wanted to see her go on to become this legendary skater and have all these cool competition experiences but no. Now Stas is knocked up with a golden retriever and Range Rover all courtesy of Nate… ew. Could you possibly get any more cliche?

Despite my complete aversion to this book, I know so many people who have it as a top favorite so if that’s you, more power to ya I guess. I however will continue to slander the name and story that is this book, Icebreaker.
