— the very secret society of irregular witches
★★★☆☆

I just finished up the very secret society of irregular witches, and I get why it’s so popular… but, dare I say, it might be a little overrated 🫣 (I mean that in the most charming, endearing way possible 🧙‍♀️✨) I went the audiobook route with this one (when i’m curious about a book but not ready to fully commit to a hard copy and welcome it to my book family). and I have to say, the narrator’s british accent? adorable. it added a sprinkle of whimsy that really brought the characters to life, so i’m glad I went audio for this one.

as for the story, we follow mika moon, a witch with a not-so-secret lonely streak, who lands in a house filled with quirky mini-witches and, naturally, a bit of romance. it’s sweet and charming… but it took its time getting there. three-quarters of the book felt like a cozy but slowwww stroll, then finally, it picked up about three quarters in. overhyped? in my opinion, yes. but if you’re here for a charmingly slow spell of magic, light read and british accents, it’s worth the listen! 🧹✨
