You have the fault in our stars and then there is this book. Dealing with cancer isn't easy and this book shows that. I had a hard time with Stijn, but...... he was honest, In fact he was the same man as he was before. He changes towards the end.

I think it depends on how you look at it. It did not make me like Stijn. But liking and understanding that these things happen, are two very different things. It is no fairytale, it is no "at least we had these wonderful years". Some people can't deal with the situation.
So when you read this remember that it is honest, brutal, maybe, but honest. It shows a perspective that we maybe don't want to hear/see, but probably not an uncommon one.

I may not like Stijn and I fully disagree with the way he deals (or should we say does not deal) with the situation, but I understood it.
The fact that I was so conflicted about it, made me give it 4 stars. It made me think, feel and struggle with my own principles. In that regard.....well done.
