Camera Lucida, by Roland Barthes

challenging informative reflective sad medium-paced

3.5

📷 Camera Lucida by Roland Barthes • I've not read any Barthes since uni and I forgot how accessible his writing is! This book speaks a lot about grief and raises interesting points about photography as evidence that someone's really existed, as unlike a painting it's only possible if the sitter is there in the room with the photographer. Quick to read but not as fun as Ways of Seeing.
