Drowning by T.J. Newman
3.0
I felt this book had a lot of potential and promise, and I think I enjoyed it more than the first one overall.
However, the more I thought about this one, the more it made no sense. Throughout the book, Will keeps challenging Fitz and keeps snapping about Chris’s plan, even though he’s simply an engineer on something sort of adjacently related to what’s going on. EVERYONE in this book keeps saying that what’s happening is impossible and saving the passengers is impossible, yet Will refuses to go along with Fitz’s plan because….ego? Because he thinks his wife will somehow come up with a better plan despite the fact she’s emotionally compromised? Who knows.
I also wish they explained more about what happened to the plane to cause the accident. Was it the airline’s fault? Freak accident? Starting the book in the middle of it happening was not my cup of tea.
I don’t know. It was fine, the beginning was great, and it was enjoyable if you turned your brain off.
