This was basically fine. I enjoyed the way the protagonist was surrounded by people scheming to destroy his life but sort of couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it until the very end. He reminded me a little of the main guy in The Plot (Jean Hanff Korelitz) because he was too stupid to see what was happening in 95% of the book. As is typical with Elmore Leonard, characters used racial slurs with abandon. Wouldn’t really recommend.
