This book... I was excited to read it when I first picked it up but I didn't expect to love it nearly as much as I did. The writing! That writing was some of the most poetic writing I have read in a while. I found myself highlighting so many phrases and quotes.

I really respected this book too, I love when LGBT books have original plots past things like coming out. The strange world with the two Suns, the war, the way everything worked was intricate. And the desert setting mixed with the slaves and war reminded me of Danys storyline in book one of the Game of Thrones.

I thought that Tam and Kai's love story was so beautiful and in depth that I shipped it from the first chapter. But I was never fully sure how to feel about the Master. Sure there was some steamy scenes with him but sometimes it felt like he was a father figure... Also I didn't really think that Kai would cave and end up sleeping with him. I guess it was because I'm not used to polyamorous relationships so I kind of wanted it to just be Kai and Tam. Or at least just Tam being conflicted about which one he wants to be with more.

I'll be honest, this is one of those books that tends to have a sex scene every other chapter at least (so I guess use your discretion before picking up)

I don't think that the Masters dead and of course, I hated that this book decided to do the same stupid abrupt, open ended, cliffhanger ending that most ebooks tend to do.

Aside from all of that though I loved this book and am excited to eventually pick up the rest.
