I greatly enjoyed the book. The atmospheric language might turn some people off, but I quite liked it. Vance pictured truly wondrous scenery using only his words.
The world and the characters are eccentric, interesting and fantastic.
I will say, the stories barely being connected was the biggest gripe for me and I feel like, were that the case, this book would have become one of my favourites.
Especially considering the time it was published I hold the writing and creativity in high regard.
