So I really do love this series, just can’t give it 5 stars because it didn’t absolutely rip my heart out like HOEAB did (the first in the series). Still really great, though I will say it felt like some things were thrown in there either just to juice it up or because SJM was going in a different direction originally and had to change. I will say the ending had me rereading it about 20 times and I will admit I screamed when I finally managed to put the book down. I do feel a little like some of the things with Danika was just pulled out of thin air and had no basis formed in the first book. It felt like her being “secretive” was the reason for everything and there wasn’t any “oh yeah x makes sense cause of y”, you know? Super excited for the next one, just hope that
