I keep having second thoughts about this book. This was a tough one to rate. First, I loved the magical twist and turns, & night circus vibes. For the vibes alone, it was 4 stars. But story-wise, I was expecting more… organization? Clear motives? Reasoning? Well sorted feelings? Idk tbh, I was a tad bored and a tad disoriented within the world of caraval. The plot was a little slow in the beginning, and some middle parts. But the unraveling was well worth it. It did give me some satisfaction to see the reveal, but there are still unanswered questions.
I think in the long run, this won’t be a memorable read which was why I bumped it to 3 stars. Julian did carry the book, romance wise for me.
Excited for book 2.
