We Can Do Better Than This: 35 Voices on the Future of LGBTQ+ Rights by Amelia Abraham

informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

3.5

An interesting selection covering a broad range of topics, including safety, HIV, disability, dating, representation, allyship and lots more. I listened to this on audio and enjoyed the production.
The quality definitely varied within this, there are some real gems here that are punchy and concise, but others feel like they really lack a drive or argument. This is potentially exacerbated by the fact that all the essays are very short, so some end up lacking the space needed to flourish into a strong argument and instead feel very anecdotal. I also recognise that I'm coming in having read a lot of LGBTQ+ non-fiction so am accustomed to reading much denser texts, I'm sure people who are beginning their reading journeys will find lots of value here!
