This is the second book of the Birthmarked trilogy. Gaia Stone has managed to escape from the Enclave with her newborn sister only to be captured and taken to Sylum. In Sylum, women rule, even though they’re outnumbered by men, and a kiss is a crime. Gaia must submit to their social norms if she wants to see her sister again. But she makes discoveries that she feels need to be addressed along with several societal changes. Can Gaia maintain her sense of self as she assimilates?
4/5
