Dead Girls by Abigail Tarttelin

3.0

I wasn't really interested in this one because I really didn't like the point of view of the main character, an 11-year-old girl. Her perspective was of course childish, very black and white, and I wasn't interested in hearing her point of view, especially since she is completely nuts.

The discussion about men vs. women, all men are bad, and how she asks her "boyfriend" to act like he's raping her so she understands what her friend felt when she was murdered bothered me a lot, I think it was made on purpose but I really didn't like the main character's reactions, her lack of trust in adults. She was everything I dislike in children.

It was very dull at some points and I only continued because I had read a review that said the last 50 pages were amazing. The last part for sure redeemed the very dull parts and I really liked the ending, but I had to force myself to get there.
