The Inmate follows a newly qualified nurse practitioner starting a new job in a men’s maximum security prison. The problem is, she knows one of the inmates. Shane, her childhood sweetheart. And the reason he’s there? He’s connected to several grizzly murders.

Another great Freida McFadden read.
Now, I will admit the back and forth between two of the main characters did start to get on my nerves and the main character, Brooke, did kind of irritate me and I had to take away a ⭐️ for that.
I have read a fair few Freida books now so the endings are becoming predictable but I will admit the twist in this one I did not guess at any point in the book but was a bit of a let down.
Will always recommend Freidas work for people trying out thrillers
