3/4 of this book are excellent with Abnett taking full advantage of his obsession with lost history and his love of bizarre chaos powers. The Space Wolves whilst being ABSOLUTE pieces of shit, are very compelling to read, with the only big flaw of this book being what felt like a very rushed ending. The Prospero massacre is also not really fleshed out in terms of brutality as it was in Thousand Sons neglecting to mention the civilians that get massacred, and having our main character come out much more positive to the Rout than he should be.

A good read and a good companion piece to McNeill's book but doesn't quite measure up to it due to the last act.
