A Light in the Flame by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

I think I’m speechless honestly. Which is quite rare for me.

The development in these characters; their clear love for each other. I just need more Sera and Ash. I could read about their love forever I think. The clear devastation at the end, when Kolis realizes who she was. ASH SHOWING UP AND THEN THE BOOK ENDING, I COULD CRY.

This book may not be perfect. It can be repetitive, but as an anxiety girlie, I understand the repetitive nature. JLA’s writing (and possibly a new editor) has gotten sooooooo much better and it shows in how she writes Sera and Ash. It shows in how they love, how they care, and how they speak to each other. It shows in Sera’s thoughts and the way she paces. I relate to this character far more than I did Poppy and I think I’m starting to enjoy Sera’s character more. Though I do adore Poppy and watching her confidence increase in her set of books.

I don’t think I ever want this story to end. I won’t be ready the day it does. The next installment is a NEED.
