Bird Box by Josh Malerman

This is a "strong female protagonist" horror story, similar in tone to A Quiet Place. In this instance, the evil "other" invading Earth can't be viewed, so people have learned to go outdoors only when neccessary and only when blindfolded.
There is a good buildup of tension in the book and a few good jump scares. Others have pointed out that coincidences abound, but that didn't ruin my enjoyment of it.
I think the author's strength is in the characterizations. The characters are well fleshed out. They are suitably sick and tired of being forced together in a small space with no real contact with the outside world. Personalities clash and the constant stress of danger causes tensions to rise.
I feel like anyone who enjoys apocalyptic thrillers and alien/monster invasion horror would enjoy it.
