this was an okay book. i just read it bc it was short and i needed to read a short book. i expected it to be somewhat life-changing ngl 😭 like i thought i'd learn smth new from it. but that didn't really happen. all the lessons in it were things i already knew and the book was alright overall but it was also kind of boring. i was mostly invested in the first half, involving uncle satoru and takako. they have the sweetest relationship.
and i also liked the bit about tanako and tomo. i hope they ended up together.
and then i wasn't really invested in the bit w momoko or wada. i think takako is an alright main character, too. she's kind of relatable, especially in the beginning. reading this is nice if ur just looking to read something simple and cutesy. i think the casual way it shows the lives of the people in the neighborhood and the way they interact is cute. and i enjoyed getting to know the different characters, somewhat. my only complaint is that it was just a little boring for me.
